Brink of tears and lack of hope

Now I lay me down to sleep

Restless terror, eyes now weep

And as the darkness falls to night

My shoulders quiver, vivid fright

Shadows fall over my bed

Voices scream inside my head

Strangle down this restless child

Left alone and fend the wild
