Blow out the Candles

Make a wish They always say Blow out the candles It will come true Someday Don't tell a secret Bury it within Your heart to keep safe Until it becomes Reality She remembers Her wishes like Pictures on a screen Each year goes by With the same thing Four years

She loves this day Her friends are smiling She wants this to Stay Seven years old She makes a wish For everything to Be absoloutly Perfect Nine years old Blow out the candles In hopes he will come And hug her Tight She turns ten now All she wants is

Brother to stop yelling And treating her bad She doesn't like being sad. Eleven years finally There were tears that year From stupid children She wished for Happiness This year its twelve The wish is a blurry Memory of what never Came true, her childhood Instead destroyed She's a teenager now. The big thirteen. She doesn't want a bike,

A barbie or a book. Not that. She hopes and prays To forget. To forgive. She wants her Daddy's love And her brother back And to just...forget. Look at her this year Fourteen and smiling. Yet she wishes desperatly For her brother to stop Destroying himself. Her fifteenth birthday She spent on a plane On the other side Of the world

Coming home. Her wish that year Would have been Had she made it on her Birthday, to not come Home yet. Sweet sixteen, It barely existed. She was wishing to die. Grasping to the recent Exciting memories. Look at her now. She's seventeen. Do you recognize her? Do you see who she Is?

Her wish this year, What will it be? Anything that will ease The pain that lies Inside. Her birthday wishes Blur together. Of wants and should haves And could have Beens. They don't mean Anything. They never came true, So why does she still Wish?
